Why ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ?

¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ allowed me to obtain a fantastic opportunity while remaining close to home. The school did a tremendous job finding scholarships to make my 4-years more affordable. ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ also has a beautiful atmosphere, and I knew it was somewhere I needed to study.

How did you choose your major?

I found my passion for politics and government in AP Gov in high school. I came to ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ as a political science major and loved my classes. I have remained a Political Science student, which has been more lucrative than I ever imagined. The department has got me great internships and the opportunity to graduate with both degrees.

Key Moment at ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ

The Inside Washington program, now through the Political Science department, offered me the best experience. I spent the summer in Washington, D.C., interning at a top-10 lobbying firm and going through a speaker series that included Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and Counselor to the President Steve Ricchetti. It was an unforgettable experience that taught me so much and will help me stand out as I apply to law school and into the job market.

Other Notable Experience

The summer after my Sophomore year, I studied abroad at ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ's MUDEC Luxembourg campus. I was the first of anyone in my family to visit Europe, and the experiences were one of a kind. The program allowed me to study AI, Greek philosophy, and creative writing while traveling to nine countries and making great friendships.

Advice to Prospective Students

I would tell them that ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ is so much more than your classes. The campus environment, activities, and people make this university unique. The staff is kind and helpful, the scenery beautiful, and the opportunities plentiful. There really is something here for everyone.

What are your career goals?

After graduation, I plan to enroll in law school and hopefully pursue a career in international law. Law school is the natural next step and one ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ has helped prepare me well for, and I came excited to see the next step in my journey.
