Why ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ?
From the moment I first stepped on campus, ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ felt like home. I was searching for a welcoming community that valued both academic and personal growth. I knew ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ was a place where I could foster my love of learning and build close relationships with my professors and peers.
How did you choose your major?
In high school, I became greatly interested in sociology and psychology. I also had a drive for business. Majoring in Organizational Leadership has allowed me to combine these passions into one focus area. I added Psychology as a second major during my sophomore year because I wanted more of a focus on how organizations can use social psychology to build community in teams.
Key Moment at ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ
Prof. Aaron Abbott in the Department of Sociology and Gerontology has led me through so many experiences at ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ. He helped me to get involved with Social Innovation Weekend, mentored me during my time as an undergraduate associate, and encouraged me to add a second major in Psychology. Through his classes and additional guidance, I have learned so much about the world of organizational leadership and strategic management.
Advice to Prospective Students
Go where it feels like home. Knowing is a feeling, not a strategic guess. ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ has provided me with opportunities to professionally and academically achieve my goals, while fostering an environment of care and friendship.
What are your career goals?
I would like to attend a graduate program in industrial organizational psychology. I see myself working on a corporate level for many years while earning a Ph.D. in psychology along the way. Before retiring, I hope to become a college professor and share my love of organizational psychology with the next generation.
