Notice: Phishing scam about Microsoft accounts

¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ has become aware of a phishing attempt that many users are experiencing. This phishing message is asking recipients to verify their “Microsoft” accounts after claiming that the account has been set for deactivation. The message is as follows:

Subject: Verify your account, please!

From: [redacted]@miamioh.edu

Your Microsoft account has been added to the list of accounts that are scheduled to be deactivated because the account holder in question has transferred, retired, or graduated. However, the data indicates that you are still in service, so please confirm this request; if not, we will have grounds to deactivate your university account.

Please be aware that this message was supposedly sent from a ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ email account, but it is a scam. Do not click on the link. If you have clicked the link, please reset your password ASAP at .

If you receive a message that you suspect to be a phishing message, please forward it to InfoSec@¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒOH.edu. This allows the information security team to block sites that may be associated with phishing attacks. If you ever feel you may have responded to a fraudulent message or clicked a link in one, please contact IT Help immediately at 513-529-7900.
