EMSS VP earns spot on Top 50 Women Leaders in Education for 2025 list

Rachel Beech, vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Success, was named as a Top 50 Women Leaders in Education for 2025 by Women We Admire.
Rachel Beech fell in love with the idea of changing lives.

During her time as an undergraduate student working in the admissions office at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, Beech watched as student after student connected with the university. They found themselves, much like she had, eventually feeling at home in their new surroundings.

It’s a process Beech still sees play out each semester in her role as ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ’s vice president for Enrollment Management and Student Success (EMSS).

“It’s kept me around for 20-plus years,” Beech said. “I think I’m stuck now.”

She has made good use of her time in higher education, too. Women We Admire recently named Beech as one of the .

Beech said she was surprised, and humbled, upon learning she was included among this year’s honorees.

“To be included in a group of individuals who are making change and trying to do the work we can to make the world a little bit better is amazing,” Beech said. “It’s such an honor. ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ has given me the chance to lead which brought this recognition my way.”

Beech joined ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ in April 2024 after previously serving as chief enrollment officer at California State University, San Bernardino. The environment at ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ was very welcoming, she said, and Beech quickly learned why people are so passionate about the university.

“We lead with the idea of Love and Honor and the idea of Prodesse Quam Conspici,” Beech said of ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ’s motto of “to accomplish without becoming conspicuous.”

“We ask, ‘How do we serve?’ It’s why we are able to work together to create opportunities throughout ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ for students and our colleagues.”

Women We Admire is an organization that comprises some of the most accomplished women executives across the United States and Canada. Beech was quick to acknowledge that recognitions like the Top 50 list was a culmination of her time spent with mentors, colleagues, and teams over the course of her career.

“The thing I’m most proud of is my team,” Beech said. “They are amazing. They care deeply about ensuring students have an easy time navigating the university by clearing barriers. It’s so nice to be in a place where people make sure students come first.”
