Since 2008, Dr. Lokon has directed ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ's service-learning program Opening Minds through Art (OMA.) OMA puts college students in direct contact with elders living with dementia as they support the elders in art-making. The Fulbright Scholars grant will allow her to bring OMA to Indonesia.

The newest version of the website is now available and provides an enhanced user experience through an interactive data center, printable versions of all content, and expanded information about the older population.

Senior Research Scholar, Phyllis Cummins, Ph.D. has been heavily involved in efforts to improve adult learning and age-inclusive education. Through numerous grants, partnerships outside of ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ, and serving on work groups and committees, Cummins is making a difference at Scripps and beyond.

Executive Director Suzanne Kunkel, Ph.D. and O'Toole Family Professor and Scripps Research Fellow Kate de Medeiros, Ph.D. awarded first place in the American Journal of Nursing 2020 Book of the Year Award. Their book titled “Global Aging: Comparative Perspectives on Aging and the Life Course, 2nd Edition” won first place in the Gerontologic Nursing category.
