One of our Family Studies and Social Work Department students and recent Bachelor’s of Social Work graduate, Maggie Botts, took an active role in the 7-day “Walk to Stop Executions” from Lucasville Prison to the State House in Columbus advocating against Ohio’s death penalty.

Two of our Department of Family Studies and Social Work students, Veronica Redbud and Tiffany Holmes, were selected in a competitive application process to represent ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ in the Propel Ohio Collegiate Leadership Summit hosted by Senator Sherrod Brown.
Recently, Lindsey Houlihan, clinical faculty in the department of family studies and social work, alerted us to these fine students in the Greater ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ Valley Joint Master of Arts in Social Work (MASW) program at ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ.
As a mother, she was concerned. A little uncertain. But trying her best to be supportive. She was a lot like many parents who find themselves raising children who identify as trans or gender non-conforming.
