Tobacco Free ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ

¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ is a Tobacco Free Campus.

Promoting Good Health

  • In order to promote the health of our students, faculty, staff, and visitors, all ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ locations are designated Smoke- and Tobacco-Free Environments.
  • ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ prohibits cigarettes, electronic cigarettes, vaporizers, hookahs, cigars, pipes, and chewing tobacco. See ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ's Tobacco-Free Policy.

Enforcing Our Policy

We shall interact with smokers firmly, but courteously and respectfully. Members of the ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ community can remind tobacco users that this is a tobacco-free campus and, to please refrain from smoking and tobacco use on university property. Visitors are informed of the policy.

Employees seen smoking or using tobacco on the grounds should be asked to stop using tobacco. Signs are posted in strategic locations throughout the campuses. People applying for positions at ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ are informed in advance that we have a smoke- and tobacco-free policy. Students applying to ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ are told in the student handbook and at other opportunities that it is a tobacco-free university.
