Impact on Financial Aid

When calculating need-based financial aid, it is essential to consider all financial assistance for which students are eligible. After ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ receives notification that a student, their spouse, or a dependent of a student will receive a fee waiver, we will review the aid for the waiver recipient. If there are changes in eligibility for aid, we will notify the waiver recipient.

Students who receive a faculty, staff, or family tuition fee waiver and an Ohio College Opportunity Grant, Ohio War Orphans Scholarship or ¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ Access Fellows funds will likely have the Ohio funds lowered. The Ohio funds can only be used to pay for the instructional fee and the general fee.

Students cannot receive any combination of aid, including loans, grants, federal work-study, and scholarships that exceed the cost of attendance. If the total amount of financial aid exceeds the cost of attendance, the amount of aid will be reduced.

Exceptions apply if a student is receiving a University tuition waiver (for example, Staff Family Waiver). In this case, the combination of tuition waiver and University scholarship may not exceed tuition, general fee, and if living independently of their parents, standard double room, and standard meal charges.
