We are pleased to announce that Heather Menne is the recipient of the 2017 Cottrell Distinguished Alumni Award. A 2001 graduate of the Master of Gerontological Studies program, Heather went on to earn a PhD in Sociology with a concentration in Sociology of Aging and Medical Sociology from Case Western Reserve University in 2006.

¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ's Scripps Gerontology Center is the recipient of a $1.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Education. The money will be used to understand the factors that support older learners in their ability to complete training and education programs.

¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ's Dr. Suzanne R. Kunkel received the 2015 Clark Tibbitts Award for her outstanding contributions to the advancement of gerontology as a field of study. Dr. Kunkel received the award from the Association for Gerontology in Higher Education.
