Beginning in June 2009, the Accreditation Council for Education of Nutrition (ACEND) and Dietetics created a new pathway to becoming a Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Registered (NDTR).
Completion of a Baccalaureate degree granted by a US regionally accredited college/university, or foreign equivalent, and completion of an ACEND Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD).
¾Ã¾ÃË®ÃÛÌÒ students meet these criteria when they graduate with a degree in Nutrition with a concentration in Dietetics. There are many positions for those with NDTR certification (upon successful completion of the NDTR Exam) in long-term care, food service, clinical dietetics, and Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) programs.
Once you have successfully completed a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology, Nutrition and Health degree with a nutrition major and a dietetics concentration and received a Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) Verification Statement, you may apply to take the Nutrition and Dietetic Technician Registered (NDTR) exam. The lists the steps necessary to sit for the NDTR exam and provides a list of helpful study resources. Please visit with the didactic program in dietetics director for more information.
